Our staff provide their time and experience for free, however; the cost of hosting websites increases as the bandwidth useage rises. In the past, we have relied on the kindness of the same small minority of members. This is a pretty unfair way of doing things, so we are levelling the playing field for everyone.
So a membership was introduced in Jan 2009 to cover the running costs. Membership gives you access to certain features and sections of the site not available to registered members.
You must register on the forums if you haven't already done so. The paypal and google checkout payments do not generate a forum account for you. Please register using the same email address used for payment to make our job easier identifying the correct account and once you have registered and paid, please contact 'Heckler' the site admin on the forums. This club uses the forums to keep it's members informed of what's going on, all technical information is kept there and our members use this section of the club to share info, arrange events and ask for advice. It's in your interests to create that account or you will miss out and we cannot assist you or help you participate.
Before posting on the forums, it is advised that you read the site rules. These are there for a reason and every member is expected to follow them.
We do occasionally deliberately not activate some accounts if we cannot ascertain they are legitimate. We get hundreds of spam accounts and this requires a lot of time to manually check them out, so those we cannot immediately determine as 'legit' are left unactivated. It is the account owners responsibility to contact site staff if their account is not activated within 24hrs, all of these accounts are automatically deleted after 7 days.
The monies raised through membership are used to keep the site going, produce car stickers, run free raffles and purchase equipment for meets & events. The result of the way we manage the funds means that the site running costs are always the priority.
